Speculation On The Tension Between Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon

On Smackdown Live this week, there was some more tension teased between Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan. During a backstage segment, Daniel told Shane that they need to talk after Survivor Series is over. This of course comes after Shane didn’t speak to Bryan about his attack on Smackdown a few weeks ago.

Let’s speculate on where WWE is going with this storyline. Here are some possible scenarios.

Scenario 1) Bryan turns on Smackdown Live, helps RAW win at Survivor Series. Bryan blamed Shane for the chokeslam that he received from Kane on RAW. He also said: “See You Sunday” at the end of the segment to Shane. Could this be a tease that Bryan is going to help RAW win on Sunday? Bryan could have been the one who allowed RAW’s roster into the building for their attack on Smackdown Live this week. Bryan was not attacked by the RAW roster, unlike (most) of the blue side. A popular theory among fans is a heel turn from Bryan on Sunday.

Scenario 2) Shane turns heel. Bryan has actually been pretty reasonable in this storyline. He just wants his commissioner to consult him on decisions and didn’t agree with the cheap shot on RAW. Plus, you are going to have a hard time getting WWE fans to boo Daniel Bryan. Shane has been acting a bit heelish lately (see: “under siege” for an example). Maybe Smackdown loses at Survivor Series and it pushes Shane over the edge?

Scenario 3) The storyline leads to Daniel stepping down after Survivor Series. There is clear tension between Shane and Bryan, making it seem like they won’t be able to work together anymore. We could be building towards Daniel Bryan being fired or stepping down due to his issues with Shane. This is possible if Bryan wants to focus more on his family and this is the way to write him off TV.

Scenario 4) Some hopeful fans are suggesting that this could lead to Daniel’s return to the ring. Maybe Shane is attacked before Survivor Series and Daniel Bryan is the surprise replacement. With Kurt Angle recently being cleared, there is a glimmer of hope but I would put this under a 5% chance of happening. Still, the internet would explode for Bryan’s return to the ring. Maybe even a future Shane vs Bryan match. Still, HIGHLY unlikely but fun to think about.

That is all I can think of at the moment. Where do you think this is heading? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
