Dean Ambrose Stories As Told By WWE Legends

2) Bret Hart

Bret Hart in a 2015 interview with Sports Illustrated had some praise for Dean and his ring psychology.

Here is what he had to say:

“I watch Dean Ambrose and I really admire him. He likes to put emotion into the match. There’s a lot of drama and he gets a lot out of the expressions and body language. That’s forgotten by too many wrestlers. My criticism of wrestlers today is that they’re all high spot monkeys. Everything is a high spot, and they go right into the next move to the next move to the next move. Then we forget what they just did. We can’t register all that. Guys are forgetting how to tell a story”

He continued:

“Nobody sells anything or registers or enough in wrestling today. They do some absolutely breathtaking moves and get back up on their feet and do another running spot, missing the whole point of what they just did. Dean Ambrose is a guy who takes his time with his storyline and his moves, and he gets the most mileage out of the simplest things.”

1) Tom Prichard

Tom Prichard is probably best known for his work behind the scenes. He has trained a number of WWE stars like Kurt Angle, the Rock and Dolph Ziggler. He also worked with Ambrose while in Florida Championship Wrestling.

In an interview with Fighting Spirit Magazine, here is what he had to say about Dean:

“Dean Ambrose is an interesting one. He’s hard to read unless you’ve been around his type of personality before; people like Terry Funk or Roddy Piper spring to mind immediately, and although lofty, those are very fair comparisons. Even so, he has had to learn that you can’t always be switched on to that full-on mindset; sometimes you’ve got to learn when to switch off, which is a delicate balance”

He continued:

“Perhaps because of that, he’s been misunderstood backstage – or at least he was when I was in WWE. He’s trying to keep that mystery about him, and be different – breaking the mould, so to speak. Ambrose has a unique style and presence, and he reminds me a lot of Johnny Valentine. William Regal was one of the first to recognise how smart he was, and that stamp of approval is good enough for me”.

On a related note, here are some rare Dean Ambrose photos that you may have never seen before!

  1. Wish WWE would get with the program and give him the real push that Roman and Seth have gotten instead of just using him to build up others.

  2. Dean got me interested in wrestling which I never liked. I always felt that it was too obviously fake. When I first saw him, I honestly thought he was some random dude that was getting in the ring to “prove” himself to the professional wrestlers. I was told nope, given his name and still doubted it although he obviously was very good at wrestling. The tee shirt and jeans threw me off. That he comes out there dressed like a regular guy and cleans house as well is impressive. He is the only role model I trust for my street kids. He’s evolved awesomely and they have a lot of respect for him and his achievements. Getting married, that showed them that taking responsibility in a committed relationship is important. They never have experienced that. He’s good for business.
