It was announced this week that we will be seeing the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match. If WWE decides to mirror what the men’s match does with 30 participants, that means WWE will have over 10 spots that need to be filled in the match.
While we will more than likely see some fun surprise returns, this likely means call-ups from NXT to help fill the match. Let’s speculate on who we think will participate.
Locks to participate:
Ember Moon – As the current NXT Women’s Champions, seems like a lock for her to compete in the match to showcase the NXT Women’s division. This wouldn’t mean a call-up to the main roster full-time but would be a way to showcase the Champion.
Peyton Royce & Billie Kay – Two names who I also think are locks to participate in the match. In their case, this could be WWE’s way to showcase them to the main audience and could serve as a call-up for both of them. There was some speculation that they would be called up several weeks ago but it didn’t happen. Maybe WWE is saving their call-up for the Rumble match?
Nikki Cross – I think that Nikki Cross has a good chance to be in the match. It seems like SANITY will be called up to the main roster as a faction in 2018, so this would be a great way for WWE to showcase her to their main audience. Like Moon, this would only be a showcase for her and wouldn’t signify a call-up to the main roster.
Not as likely, but still possible:

Kairi Sane – WWE might want to showcase the first ever Mae Young Classic winner. This wouldn’t be a call-up and would only serve as a one-off appearance. Sane will likely spend the next year (at least) in NXT.
Shayna Baszler – If Ronda Rousey is going to be appearing in this match, there is a chance that Shayna does as well. This would set-up the Four Horsewomen match at Wrestlemania.
