Becky Lynch won both the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships at Wrestlemania 35. This came after Becky pinned Ronda Rousey. Wrestlemania closed with Becky celebrating in the ring with her new belts.
There have been some rumors that the finish of the match didn’t exactly go down as planned. Still, the consensus seems to be that Becky was supposed pin Rousey to win the Titles (like what we saw happen).
We have a rumor to pass your way on an idea that was scrapped for after Becky’s win in the main event.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), there was supposed to be some extra drama after the match. The show was supposed to end with Charlotte Flair and Becky having some issues with one another. This is because Charlotte lost her Smackdown Women’s Title without being pinned or submitted.
This confrontation didn’t end up happening because the show was running late and they decided to just end things with Becky celebrating.
My Take: Pretty happy that they didn’t go this route. The show ending with Becky holding both Titles was the right call. Plus, I don’t really want to see another Charlotte-Becky feud. Let’s allow both to move on to new things.
