Rumor Roundup: The Plans For Wrestlemania 38, Why Tom Phillips Missed Night 1, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) No WWE Roster Shake-Ups Planned

According to Ringside News, WWE has no current plans to shake-up the rosters on either RAW or Smackdown.

Here is what the site wrote:

Ringside News asked around about WWE’s plans after WrestleMania, specifically if they plan on running a Superstar Shake-Up of some kind. At this time the company is not planning any such event for their rosters.

My Take:

  • I am fine with this. I would wait for several more months and do another full-blown draft.

4) Why Tom Phillips Missed Wrestlemania 37

According to Wrestling INC, Tom Phillips was pulled from Wrestlemania 37 due to COVID-19 protocols. Here is what the site wrote:

Wrestling Inc. has learned that Phillips was removed from the show due to COVID protocols.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer also noted that he has heard Phillips was pulled from the show due to a COVID-related issue.

My Take:

  • This makes sense as to why Michael Cole called the entire show. Usually, Phillips would have called the RAW matches and Cole would have called the Smackdown matches. Instead, we got Cole for the entire show.
