Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Why Kevin Owens Hasn’t Been On RAW
Kevin Owens hasn’t been on RAW for the past few weeks. This has led to some speculation from fans that Owens has pulled himself from WWE television again.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Owens did NOT pull himself from the television tapings again. Owens was at the latest RAW taping and just wasn’t used on the show:
Even though he wasn’t on the last two shows, Owens was at the Raw tapings on 7/20. He had been written into the original shows but with all the changes made, they decided not to use him. I think the key was that since they wanted to do injury angles with Black on both shows, the feeling was that Owens would theoretically have to do run-ins to attempt to break those up and they didn’t feel the need to sacrifice him in angles like that
My Take:
- It seems odd to not use Owens on a 3-hour show. The guy should definitely be used in some form.
4) 2021 Royal Rumble Plans
According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE was initially planning to announce the date and location of the 2021 Royal Rumble in early August.
However, those plans have now changed and the announcement is on hold as some changes are being made. Here is what the account Tweeted:
My Take:
- If they do the Royal Rumble in front of limited fans, it is going to be very weird. One of the best parts of the Rumble is the reaction from the crowd, so it will be extremely odd with limited people in attendance. WWE will definitely have to get creative with it since they more than likely won’t be able to run a full arena.
