The Kliq is a group of friends consisting of: Triple H, Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, and Sean ‘X-pac’ Waltman. The group was known to have a ton of power backstage of WWE, including the ear of Vince McMahon when it came to booking. As you can imagine, the group made a LOT of enemies as a result. Here is a list of WWE stars that HATE The Kliq.
10) Pierre-Carl Ouellet
Pierre-Carol Ouellet of the Quebecers is a name that constantly comes up when discussing people who hate the Kliq. He also wrestled briefly under the name: Jean-Pierre LaFitte for WWE. In an interview with The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling, Oullett told the infamous story about the 1995 house show in Montreal. Ouellet refused to lose (clean) to Nash in his hometown, because of the bad blood between him and the group.
Ouellet On Why He Hated The Kliq:
“I had just got really, really mad at The Kliq and the fact that he (Nash) was so cocky when the Montreal house show came that when Tony Garea called me in the room and said they wanted a good solid match ending in a big boot and jack-knife, this time I totally refused to do the job for him. To me it was just so many bad blood things and was revenge and them just being cool, cocky and constantly using a demonstration of pure power that I just didn’t want to go with it.
They kept pressuring me and all the agents were coming to me and it was finally Shawn came in with his Intercontinental belt and I told him you f*cking little f*cker if you miss me with your belt I am going to f*cking kill you and beat you up to the point you won’t believe it and he never touched me
The whole dressing room was hoping that Nash would give me a hell of a beating during that match and make it a shoot. Nash came back to me before the match started and said you sure you don’t want to do the job for me? I still said no I’m not doing it and I’ll go home and go to sleep here in Montreal before I lose. I said let’s just do a double count out and it ended up that it was a really stiff match and as we brawled to the back the punches got stiffer and stiffer”
9) Bret Hart
Bret ‘the Hitman’ Hart has had a number of issues with Kliq member Shawn Michaels over the years. It is no surprise that Bret hated the backstage friend group.
In an interview with the Fight Network, Bret refers to the group as being cancer to the dressing room of WWE:
“They were literally a cancer in the dressing room, all of them. I don’t doubt that Shawn Michaels is sorry for a lot of that kind of behaviour. Kevin Nash was a great wrestler and a good guy, but I don’t think he could be that proud of that association. It was a cancerous environment in the dressing room with those guys and they certainly did more negative than positive to the business. Scott Hall, all you have to do is just look at him. He’s a train-wreck with his own life and he was a malcontent, or a guy that when you were close to him long enough you start to feel the same way he did; you just felt so self-destructive and unhappy with your life and your job and everything
He was a guy that was infectious with his bad, bad sort of moods and unhappiness in his own life that would spread to all the other wrestlers. And you know, I’m glad I’m not remembered for that kind of stuff. I’m remembered – I think if you talk to different wrestlers from that era, the Savio Vegas and those kinds of wrestlers that were on my cards – they’re all pretty proud of how I conducted myself, how I related to them and how I may have been the top guy but I didn’t act like a superstar; not to my friends and not to my peers.”
It appears as if Bret has patched things up with some of the group members over the years but he still clearly dislikes the group’s antics.
8) Bryan Clark
You might remember Bryan Clark from his run in WWE as ‘Adam Bomb’. He is one of the most vocal haters of the Kliq, having taken shots at them in various interviews. In a 2008 interview, Clark did not hold back on his hate for the Kliq.
Clark on being ribbed by Scott Hall and X-Pac.
“No. I don’t know. Probably the 1-2-3 Kid. Um, I think, as a matter of fact, one night, I remember Scott Hall – this is when Kid was carrying their bags around, and kissing their a*s – he locked up my bag one night in Albany, New York and I just wasn’t really in the mood for it. I was ready to kick both their f**kin’ a**es, man. I had enough, I already snapped. It had been a long tour. I told them both, I said, ‘I’ll beat your f**kin’ a** right now, both of you.’ Cause I f**kin’ hated both of ’em. They’re both pieces of sh*t, and I’ll tell ’em to this day”
On his hate for Shawn Michaels:
“Shawn, f**k, couldn’t stand him. Still don’t like him. He’s another guy that’s a f**kin’ joke. I know all the cruiserweights around the world, that’s their big hero, man, but if they knew the real Shawn Michaels…”
Safe to say he didn’t get along with the Kliq….
