We have two injury updates to pass your way in regards to female WWE stars. WWE announced that Alexa Bliss suffered a shoulder injury at Backlash. A report also broke on Wednesday that said Charlotte Flair ruptured one of her breast implants and would need to have surgery.
Let’s start with Alexa. It appears as if she is okay as she wrestled at the Bournemouth, England live event on May 9th.
As for Charlotte Flair, Dave Meltzer provided an update in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here). Charlotte has apparently been dealing with the ruptured implant for a while now. Meltzer says that it happened before Wrestlemania.
Charlotte didn’t get surgery right away because she didn’t want to miss the match against Asuka. WWE apparently wanted her to stick around for Backlash and for the European tour because they are good money making shows. Charlotte also did a photo shoot for ESPN: The Body Issue and they shot around it.
Meltzer says that she wants it taken care of after the tour is over so she is good to go for Summerslam.
No word though on Charlotte’s status for Money in the Bank. We will let you know when we have any more details to share.
