Its seem like forever ago now that Kurt Angle was approached by Cory Graves in regards to this mystery cell phone drama on Raw. Finally this coming Monday we will find out who the secret person is in regards to the Kurt Angle mystery. There have been a ton of speculation and even some outside the box thinking in regards to who this could be and why. I’m here today to sort some things out and give you my perspective on the Kurt Angle situation. Before we jump into the top four suspects to this investigation lets quickly go into what we know.
First Kurt Angle has only communicated with this person over the phone and through Cory Graves. This leads me to believe this person is not on the show weekly and hasn’t been on the show. Also he recommends this person come to the show next Monday to tell the world. Secondly this secret could ruin not only his professional career but his marriage as well. Also it would be embarrassing as well as disgraceful to his character as well as his status as an Olympic gold medalist. Finally he told the person over the phone on Raw he loves them and is proud of them.
With this information in hand I will be giving you the top four choices to whom I believe Kurt Angle could be speaking to.
4. Shelton Benjamin – This has just come onto my list as IWNerd.com as reported as well as other sites have said Shelton Benjamin is close to a WWE return. He already has extremely close ties to Kurt Angle and could be an interesting way to bring him back. Now I am putting him in this position because this would go along with the “homosexual lover” angle many have posted only. I hesitate to agree with that ONLY BECAUSE he said he was an embarrassment and a disgrace early in the storyline. However it could ruin his career as he is having an affair with a superstar, it could ruin his family as he’s having an affair and he could be proud of and love this person.
Stephanie McMahon over the years has talked about the possibility of adding a homosexual character on-screen this could be a way to accomplish that.
3. Stephanie McMahon—I simply have this so low on my list because I am NEVER A PROPONENT of running a split up angle with Stephanie and HHH. They are all over news outlets documentaries and other forms of media together. They also have children that are getting older and more knowledgeable to how things appear on TV. With that said Stephanie McMahon has to be a suspect here because they have already run this angle in the past.
With reports that HHH and Angle are set to have a match this clearly makes the most sense right? Well let’s see… Could it ruin his professional and personal life? Yes. Could it be an embarrassment and a disgrace? Yes. Could he be proud of and love Stephanie for being strong enough to confess their love? Yes. It certainly checks all the boxes and is something many people believe will happen.
2. Dixie Carter – I’m on the hype train when it comes to Dixie Carter and I’m not entirely sure why I have her above Stephanie McMahon other than I hate HHH and Stephanie split up angles. However let’s take a look at some facts. They started this angle over a month ago and decided to pull the trigger on the reveal in Nashville, TN. Which of course is home of Dixie. Of course Dixie and Angle spent quite a bit of time together in TNA and you can tell there is a lot of mutual respect and admiration for the two when they talk about each other.
So WWE could run with Dixie luring Kurt away all those years ago because they were sleeping together. This could easily lead to Kurt vs. HHH at Summerslam or Wrestlemania with Stephanie in one corner and Dixie in the other. This could almost be WWE vs. TNA at a huge WWE event. This is almost certainly something Vince McMahon would love especially when TNA is trying to rebrand and restart. It also meets the above criteria which is why I’m higher than others on it being Dixie Carter.
1. Nikki Bella – What? Huh? Why? Ok hear me out as I’m not crazy. The last time we saw Nikki Bella she was being proposed to by John Cena in the middle of the ring at Wrestlemania. She was the happiest she has ever been and it was a fairy tale ending. However when John Cena and Nikki Bella rode off into the sunset this was during the superstar shakeup. Cena was then promoted one week as “returning to Smackdown Live” on July 4th. Then over the next few weeks after they started the Kurt Angle storyline they started promoting Cena’s return as “Free Agent John Cena Returns to Smackdown Live on July 4th. Many assumed this was just a rating ploy and while yes it was certainly done to help ratings.
What if Angle’s next match won’t be against HHH but against John Cena. They happen to be making the announcement on Raw during the go home shows for Battleground. What if Angle has been having an affair with Nikki Bella and Corey Graves got wind of it and brought it to Angle’s attention. This could certainly ruin his career as he’s having an affair with the top superstar in the company’s fiancé. The WWE loves extra star power going into mega shows and Nikki Bella being added to the road to Summerslam would be HUGE. I’m going on record today July 14th, 2017 as possibly the only guy who has said the name Nikki Bella in regards to who it could be. I believe it’s going to be Nikki Bella and I believe we are getting Kurt Angle vs. John Cena at Summerslam.
