Finn Balor has been injured since Summerslam, where he tore his labrum in his match against Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship. The initial hope for his return was at the 2017 Royal Rumble as a best case scenario. The worse case scenario was it would force him to miss Wrestlemania 33.

We reported that a few days prior to the Royal Rumble, Balor was undergoing tests with WWE doctors to see if he was cleared to return to the ring. The initial hope was that he would be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match. As we all know, this didn’t happen.
So what’s the word going around with Finn and when will we see him back on WWE TV?
According to rumors, Balor is close to returning. Early reports are that he should be back sometime in early March.
Fastlane is on March 5th, so that could be the potential return date for the ‘Demon King’. That would leave WWE a month to build a storyline for him for Wrestlemania 33.

Some fans have feared that Balor will be held off until the RAW after Wrestlemania 33. With the list of rumored Wrestlemania 33 matches, there doesn’t look like there is that much space on the card. While it is unclear who Balor will be involved with upon his return, it sounds like he will be used at the event.
