It has been over a year now since WWE ran the United Kingdom Championship Tournament. A few of the stars like Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate have become household names in NXT but we are still without a show for the division. We have an update on WWE’s plans for the U.K division to pass along.

This comes from Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here). Here are some key points:
– Meltzer says that there has been a lot of movement behind-the-scenes on WWE’s U.K project.
– WWE apparently already has a date booked for December in Margate, Kent and Meltzer says there could be more. WWE has quietly canceled bookings in the past though, so keep that in mind.
– WWE has renewed the contracts of the 5 key U.K talents. Meltzer refers to the “big 5” as Trent Seven, Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, Wolfgang and Mark Andrew. All of them are said to have gotten better deals.

– WWE has signed Zack Gibson but only for the U.K project.
– According to Meltzer, the idea is still to do tapings and run a U.K. based promotion. Also, potentially even a training center down the road.
