– According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), there were a few backup plans in place for Wrestlemania if Daniel Bryan wasn’t cleared to return. These options were:

1) Shane McMahon teaming with another partner vs Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

2) Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn vs Shane McMahon.

3) Either of the above matches with Daniel Bryan as the special guest referee.

– Meltzer also says there has been talk of WWE doing more dual-branded live events. This would be similar to the recent event they held in Madison Square Garden. He adds that it would only be on rare occasions in big markets. It also wouldn’t cut down on the number of live events WWE does.
