5 Reasons Why Wyatt vs Orton Should Main Event Wrestlemania 33 Over Lesnar vs Goldberg

3) The ‘New Era’

Another reason why the match between Orton and Wyatt should go on last at Wrestlemania 33 is because it would be a better representation of WWE’s “New Era”.

I completely understand that Goldberg and Lesnar are the two bigger stars (compared to Orton/Wyatt) and will be a selling point for Wrestlemania 33 for many casual fans. Fans paying to see that match are still going to get their money’s worth if it goes on second-last at the event.

WWE making Wyatt and Orton the main event, gives off the message that we are in a ‘New Era’ and building new stars. Yes Randy Orton is already an established star and has been in many high-profile Wrestlemania main events. The fact is that Bray Wyatt hasn’t.

Defending his title in the final match of Wrestlemania 33 will be a big boost for Bray Wyatt. There is no doubt that he will be a staple of the company for the next several years. At some point we can’t rely on our part-time stars forever, we need to build new ones for the next decade.

I think this match going on last would send a great message to the locker room and the WWE Universe. Bray Wyatt wrestling in the main event has potential to boost him as a bigger star. Casual fans tuning into see Lesnar and Goldberg probably aren’t going to turn their tv’s off for the final match.

I think that Orton vs Wyatt going on last could send the right message that even though we need part-time talent to sell the show, we are focusing on building new stars and the ‘new era’.
