15 Bold 2018 WWE Guesses

10) WWE Will Lose A Big Name Superstar

Last year I predicted that WWE would poach another major superstar from Japan in 2017. This didn’t end up happening. In 2018, I am actually going in the opposite direction with my prediction. I think that WWE is going to lose a big named superstar.

Professional wrestling is at an interesting place where guys and girls can make good money outside of WWE. I think that wrestlers are starting to realize their value and want to test their success outside of WWE.

I am not exactly sure who it will be, but I expect a big name to leave the company in 2018 to pursue their independent career. This will be looked at a major loss to the company.

11) Daniel Bryan Wrestles Again For WWE

Call me a wishful thinker, but I really think Daniel Bryan will wrestle again for WWE.

His contract expires later in the year and I really don’t think that WWE will want him to go elsewhere. Imagine Daniel Bryan going to Ring of Honor or New Japan Pro Wrestling? That would be a major loss for WWE and a major boost for the company he signs with.

Bryan has been adamant about wanting to wrestle again and it sounds like he will be doing it with or without WWE. I also think that his current storyline with Shane is leading to something in-ring.

12) WWE Has A Five-Star Match (According To Dave Meltzer)

It has been 7 years now since WWE has had a 5-star match rating according to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer. Some fans may have felt like a few matches from 2017 deserved the rating but it didn’t end up happening. A few came close, as a handful were rated at 4.75 stars out of 5.

I am going to say that there is going to be a match so good that it earns a 5-star rating in 2018 from Meltzer.  My early candidate is AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura.

Meltzer ratings are not the be-all, end-all for wrestling ratings but his opinion is valued by a lot of fans. I think another match joins this exclusive list, where there have only been 5 in WWE history.
