Out of all the possibilities that I have listed, this one seems most likely to occur. Finn Bálor never lost the WWE Universal Championship, he was forced to vacate it due to injury. Kevin Owens captured the title thanks to Triple H.
Upon returning Bálor could say he never lost the title and he wants a match, Owens could say that the “shortest-reigning” WWE Universal champion doesn’t deserve a match. These two could exchange words and punches leading up to a main event match at WrestleMania. Both men have a history when it comes to championship matches and they have had a rivalry in the past in NXT. That rivalry was for the NXT Championship, which led to Finn Bálor to become the longest reigning NXT champion. It is almost like a mirrored history, and would make for some very interesting story telling.
