Ranking Every WWE PPV Of 2017 From Worst To Best

10) No Mercy

No Mercy had a real shot at jumping to number one on this list. This card was extremely strong on paper, with Reigns vs Cena and Strowman vs Lesnar being Wrestlemania quality matches.

I was ready to crown this as the number one Pay-Per-View of the year about 6 matches in. Then, the final two matches happened and it brought down the score.

Wasn’t a big fan of Enzo winning the Cruiserweight Championship. Felt like it was the wrong decision and left a bad taste in my mouth. I also was extremely disappointed by Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman. I came into the event with major expectations for the Universal Title match and was left very disappointed with how it ended. Felt like they could have done much more to at least make Strowman look good. Instead, it was a standard Lesnar match, with him picking up the clean win.

There was a lot of good on this show. The tag team title match between Ambrose & Rollins vs Sheamus & Cesaro was excellent. I thought the Women’s match was good. I also enjoyed Reigns vs Cena.

Still, the last two matches brought it down for me personally from one of the top 2 of the year to the middle of the pack.

9) Clash Of Champions

I thought that Clash of Champions was a decent show. Nothing special but not too bad either.

The match that I really enjoyed was the tag team title match. I thought that the Usos, the New Day, Benjamin & Gable and Rusev & Aiden English all worked very well together and put on a great match.

I really enjoyed the storytelling in the tag team match: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan as the special guest referees was a fun twist and a great way to build their storyline. The match itself wasn’t great but the storytelling was good.

AJ brought Jinder Mahal to arguably the best match of his career in the main event. Still, not anything to write home about.

Overall, a decent show. Middle of the pack I would say.

8) Hell in a Cell

The Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View featured an incredible opening match and an incredible main event. Both also happened to take place inside of a Hell in a Cell.

The Usos vs the New Day put on an awesome match. They proved once again that they have incredible chemistry with one another. They also were able to tell a great story inside of the cell without using blood.

The main event between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens was awesome. We got to see the giant leap from Shane McMahon from the top of the cell. We also got to see Sami Zayn turn heel in a surprise ending.

The rest of the card was solid but nothing crazy. As a result, it earns a spot somewhere in the middle.

7) TLC

The TLC card underwent some major last-minute changes with the viral infection forcing both Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt off the card. WWE had some pretty great replacements, with Kurt Angle & AJ Styles wrestling in their places.

The return to the ring of Kurt Angle was a lot of fun. It was great to see him back in a WWE ring for the first time in 11 years. As a big fan of Angle growing up, it made the event that much more special for me.

The main event was chaos but I also thought that it was a lot of fun. From an entertainment standpoint, I found myself loving the match.

The show also saw a really good match between AJ Styles and Finn Balor. For a match that had zero build beforehand, they managed to put on an awesome match.

Overall I thought that it was a solid show. I don’t blame you if you have Hell in a Cell or No Mercy ranked higher. For me, it was a very close call.
