Ranking Every WWE PPV Of 2017 From Worst To Best

3) Great Balls Of Fire

Expectations weren’t very high going into Great Balls of Fire. This was because of the name. Why on earth would WWE call their show Great Balls of Fire? Regardless of the name, the event went on to deliver some awesome matches and moments.

We had the 30 minute Iron Man match between the Hardy’s and Sheamus & Cesaro. This match was a ton of fun, especially the last few minutes.

We also had the wild ambulance match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. This included Roman committing vehicular manslaughter, smashing the ambulance into the wall with Strowman still inside. I don’t know about anybody else, but I was entertained as hell by it all.

We also had a good main event match between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar. This was a huge moment for Samoa Joe, as he took his best shot at Brock Lesnar and almost conquered the beast. It wasn’t that long of a match, but I thought that it was good and it really elevated Joe in the eyes of WWE fans.

Overall, I enjoyed the heck out of this show and can’t find too many bad things to say about it.

2) Wrestlemania 33

This won’t go down in history as the greatest Wrestlemania of all-time but I would say it was a fun event.

The Hardy’s return to WWE was one of the biggest mark out moments that I can remember in a long time. The match between Shane McMahon and AJ Styles was a lot better than fans were expecting. Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar was better than many fans expected.

There was definitely some bad with the show, I was bummed with the match between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt. I also felt like the event was too long. Still, it was a fun show, especially the first half of the card.

This might be a little high for some fans, but I felt like it deserved this spot based on my personal enjoyment level. Wrestlemania’s always get me on the nostalgia factor.

The entire show wasn’t great but I thought that it was solid.

1) Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble was my favorite Pay-Per-View event of 2017.

The incredible match between John Cena and AJ Styles is one of the biggest reasons why. This was a match of the year candidate and the best of their 3 matches against one another.

The event also featured an awesome no-disqualification match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship. This one kind of goes under the radar because of how good Styles vs Cena was. This was easily the second best match on the card and remains in the top 10 of matches of the year (in my eyes at least).

This wasn’t the best Royal Rumble match in history by any means, but it was still fun. I am biased on Royal Rumble matches and always find that it is my most anticipated of the year.

Based on the quality of matches, the Royal Rumble gets my vote.
