Roman Reigns won the Intercontinental Title from the Miz on Monday Night RAW this past week. Reigns became the second member of the Shield (after Dean Ambrose) to become a Grand Slam champion in WWE. The day after the title change, it was reported that the Miz will be filming a movie and will not be on WWE television for the next several weeks.

As a result, it looks like Reigns will be moving on to a new feud. Let’s speculate on who he will be feuding with for the next few weeks.
1) Samoa Joe
If the rumors of Reigns vs Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania are true, that leaves Samoa Joe outside of the WWE Universal Title picture. I think that as a consolation, Joe would make a pretty good Intercontinental Champion. Reigns and Joe have faced off on RAW a few times but I think they start a program for the title that goes on for the next several weeks. Joe also pinned Reigns on the February 6th, 2017 episode of RAW.
2) Finn Balor
There has been a lot of talk about Balor over the past week, including rumors of Vince McMahon not thinking that he is “over enough” for a match with Brock Lesnar. Regardless of the rumors, Balor would be a pretty solid feud for Roman over the next several weeks. Balor has defeated Reigns in the past and could be fun for them to have a lengthy program.
3) Bray Wyatt or Braun Strowman
WWE could use either Strowman or Wyatt to feud with Reigns next. Both guys have faced Reigns a lot in the past and have worked lengthy programs with him. Still, WWE could go back to them with the title now involved.
Also, speculation on who could answer an open challenge as a surprise:
John Cena
What is the only title that John Cena has never won in his career? That of course would be the Intercontinental Championship. With Reigns holding the title, I could see Cena accepting an open challenge to become a Grand Slam champion. Seems like a perfect set-up to me, especially since Reigns probably won’t be Champion for longer than a few months.
Cedric Alexander also recently teased that he wanted to accept the open challenge. Maybe this was a tease for Monday?
All I heard was “open challenge”.
