17 Things That We Learned From Summerslam (2017)

1) The First Kickoff Show Match Was Demonstration Of How Stacked The Summerslam Card Was

The kickoff show of Summerslam featured a 6-man tag team match. The Hardy’s teamed up with Jason Jordan to take on The Miz & The Miztourage. We first need to talk about how much talent was left off the main card of the show. When the Hardy’s and the Intercontinental Title don’t make the cut, you know it is stacked.

The 6-men wrestled in front of an almost empty arena. The match was eventually won by the Miz after hitting Jordan with the ‘Skull Crushing Finale’:

Many of the fans that bought tickets to the event missed this match waiting to get in. Also, is WWE souring on Jordan already? Picks up the pinfall loss for no reason.

2) New Cruiserweight Champion!

The kickoff show of Summerslam saw A Cruiserweight Title match between Neville and Akira Tozawa. This came less than a week after Tozawa shocked the world to win the title on RAW.

At Summerslam, the world was shocked again as Neville won his title back from Tozawa after hitting the ‘Red Arrow’. We have a new Cruiserweight Champion!

Did NOT expect to see a title change after only a few days. The King of the Cruiserweight’s is back on top! Many fans are questioning why the title change was made on RAW just to give it back to Neville.

3) The New Day Rocked Had Some ‘Red Lantern Corps’ Inspired Attire

The kickoff show featured a big-time Tag Team title match. The New Day defended their Smackdown Tag Team Titles against the Usos. Many fans felt like this match should have been on the main card of the show (and they were right)

The New Day were wearing some new and unique attire for the match. It looks like they were paying homage to ‘red lantern’ (from DC comics):

Some cool stuff from the New Day!
