Worst Promo/ Segment of the Year Award

Our Winner: Bayley, This Is Your Life

There is no other way to describe the ‘Bayley, this is your life’ segment than an absolute train wreck. Mick Foley’s “This Is Your Life” segment back in 1999 with the Rock was a major success and it looks like WWE thought that it would be a good idea to follow the same formula.

The segment was hosted by Alexa Bliss and featured Bayley’s fourth-grade teacher, ex-best friend, and ex-boyfriend. The segment went too long and was very poorly written.

I think Booker T spoke for all of us when he said it was “hard to watch” on commentary.

WWE seemed to agree with fans about how bad the segment was as they tried to play it off as if it didn’t happen. There was no mention in the video highlights of the segment and they only included Alexa’s beat down at the end.

One of the worst segments that I can remember in the past few years.

Honorable Mentions: Bray Wyatt transforms into Sister Abigail. Jinder Mahal’s racist promos on Shinsuke Nakamura.

Disappointing Match Award

Our Winner: Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton – Wrestlemania 33

I was a big fan of the Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt storyline when it first began. I enjoyed Randy burning down the Wyatt Family compound and I thought that WWE did a good job building the feud for their Wrestlemania match.

Orton vs Wyatt for the WWE Title had a lot of hype heading into Wrestlemania. It felt like it missed the mark and left me extremely disappointed.

During the match, there were images of different insects that appeared on the ring canvas. It might have seemed like a cool idea on paper but I thought that it really took away from the match.

The match also only went about 10 minutes. I felt like they either got cut short for time or it was rushed.

Based on the storyline heading into the match, this should not have been as bad as it was. Left me and many fans bummed out.

Honorable Mention: Any of the AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens matches on PPV
