2017 Anti-Slammy Awards – Here Are 14 Awards For The Absolute WORST Of WWE

Our Winner: Bayley

I don’t think that you will find too many people who disagree with this one. Look at Bayley’s stock in 2016 and compare it to what we saw happen in 2017. There is no question that her stock has dropped significantly over the past year.

This isn’t Bayley’s fault though, it has to do with WWE’s booking of her.

The feud with Bayley and Alexa was a disaster. Bayley has been booked like a complete joke over the past year. Her reactions from the crowd have completely died down. To give you an example of how badly she has been booked, when she announced that she was injured, she was booed by fans.

Not sure how WWE was able to accomplish that in such a short time, but they managed to really damage Bayley’s character.

Honorable Mention: Finn Balor is a possible choice but not in the same realm as Bayley.

Worst Storyline Award

Our Winner: Jason Jordan As Kurt Angle’s Illegitimate Son

I do think that this storyline does have a chance to improve in 2018 if they do it right but in regards to 2017, it remains as the worst storyline of the year for me.

I thought that the build to this storyline was fantastic. I loved the mystery and the intrigue that WWE built with Angle and his interactions with Corey Graves. I thought that it was very well done until they revealed the big surprise: Jason Jordan as Kurt Angle’s illegitimate son.

I think many fans like myself felt disappointed by where WWE went with this storyline. Fans have completely rejected Jason Jordan so far and have ripped the storyline and Jordan to pieces. Just seems like it has been a fail all around.

WWE still has a chance to salvage it in 2018 but as of right now it wins our worst storyline award.

Honorable Mention: Bray Wyatt As ‘Sister Abigail’ against ‘Demon’ Finn Balor (thankfully, this was cut short)
