11) Are We Going To See A Swerve In The Kurt Angle vs Baron Corbin Match?
Kurt Angle revealed that he will be facing Baron Corbin at Wrestlemania 35. Fans both in the arena and on social media were not happy with Kurt’s decision for his final opponent.
According to a rumor, there was no swerve planned when WWE originally announced the match. The plan was always for Angle vs Corbin to happen. The rumor was also that Angle was hoping for a higher-profile opponent but ended up getting Corbin.
My Take: We will have to wait and see if WWE changes their mind based on the negative crowd reaction to this match. My own hope is that we still end up with Angle vs John Cena.
10) The Original Plans For Asuka’s Opponent At Wrestlemania 35
Asuka lost her Smackdown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair recently. The rumor is that this was a last-minute decision that was made by Vince McMahon.
A rumor is that Asuka was originally scheduled to face off against Mandy Rose at the event. This would have come after Mandy defeated Carmella, Naomi, and Sonya Deville in the number one contender’s match. After Asuka dropped the Title, those plans have obviously been scrapped.
My Take: I am conflicted on this one. I hate seeing Asuka left off the (main) card as she is one of my favorites in all of WWE. While saying that, another Asuka vs Mandy match would not have interested me very much.
9) The Original Plans For John Cena At Wrestlemania 35
According to a report from a few months ago, John Cena was originally scheduled to face off against Lars Sullivan at Wrestlemania 35. The original plan was for Lars to receive a massive push in WWE, which would have included a big match at Wrestlemania against Cena.
Those plans appear to be scrapped though as Lars is rumored to have no-showed some WWE events after suffering a panic attack prior to his main roster debut. As we get closer to Wrestlemania, it is looking more-and-more like this won’t be happening.
My Take: It looks like Lars missed out on a potential major match at Wrestlemania. Hopefully, he is okay and is able to rebound from this to still be successful in WWE.
